In recent days, the Rise Against Hunger project in Penang has made remarkable strides in supporting vulnerable communities with essential meals and aid. Through impactful collaborations and dedicated events, the project has brought warmth, food security, and community spirit to those in need.
On October 18th, Rise Against Hunger successfully handed over 56,000 packed meals to the Rotary Club of Penang. This substantial donation laid the groundwork for local meal distribution efforts to benefit the community directly.
The next day, **Friday, October 18th**, Rise Against Hunger joined hands with Persatuan Kebajikan Fokus Beramal to distribute free meals to senior citizens and the homeless along Macalister Lane. This effort provided more than just meals—it offered a sense of connection and support for some of Penang’s most vulnerable individuals.
The spirit of giving continued on October 20th at the Sri Sakthi Vinayagar Temple in Tanjong Tokong. During this event, hampers were provided to 35 families, allowing these households to celebrate the festive season with greater ease and joy.
The final event took place on October 28th at SJK(T) Azad Tamil School, Kebun Bunga, where Rise Against Hunger packets were distributed to students. Additionally, Pas President DS Ramu provided Deepavali ‘ang pow’ envelopes to the students, adding a personal touch of festive cheer to the occasion.
Through each of these initiatives, Rise Against Hunger and Rotary Club of Penang with it's partners continue to inspire hope and unity, fostering a more supportive community one meal at a time.
